Outlook Connector Version 12.1 Beta Released

The Microsoft Office Outlook Team have just announced a new beta version of the Outlook Connector - the add-in that lets you sync your Windows Live Hotmail data in Outlook. In the past, email and contacts syncing was available for free, but syncing your calendar was only available with a subscription service. No more! Calendar sync is free! Not only that, but the calendar syncing service now also syncs with the Windows Live Calendar Beta service, too! That means you can sync your work calendar in Outlook to your personal calendar in Hotmail to your family calendar in Windows Live Calendar and vice versa. And since Windows Live Calendar supports calendar sharing, other shared calendars that you have access to will also sync back to Outlook. The new Outlook connector is faster, more reliable, and, as always, free. You can download it from here.

Mit Windows Live Messenger kannst Du Sofortnachrichten senden ebenso wie Fotos und Dateien versenden. Wenn Du Fotos auf Deinem Handy hast, kannst Du die sofort auf Deinem Live Space hochladen, um mit anderen zu teilen. Mit Windows Live Hotmail auf Deinem Handy hast Du immer Zugriff auf Deinen Emails und wenn Du keine Zeit oder Lust hast, eine Antwort zu tippen, kannst Du auf E-Mails mit einer Sprachnachricht antworten.

- Mais velocidade na navegação
- Mais tempo antes de esvaziar a lixeira eletrônica
- Ferramenta para gerenciar contatos duplicados
- Botão para reportagem de phishing
- Respostas automáticas para períodos de ausências
- Aceite de agendamentos do Outlook

Essas novidades estão sendo disponibilizadas mundialmente durante as próximas semanas.

Uma Pequena Prévia do Novo Windows Live Home

Durante uma coletiva de imprensa no Japão, o Diretor de Windows Live do país deu uma pequena prévia aos jornalistas do que vem por aí para os serviços do grupo Windows Live. O blog do Liveside.net conta alguns dos detalhes, já que a reportagem original está em japonês.

O novo portal Windows Live Home será realmente uma porta de entrada única aos serviços Windows Live. Os diversos módulos do portal permitirá um monitoramento dos serviços oferecidos, entre eles os tradicionais Hotmail e Spaces. O header da página será dinâmico mostrando, nesse caso específico, a previsão do tempo. Também será possível:
- acessar emails e contatos direto do Portal
- verificar sua agenda do Windows Live Calendar
- blogar e postar fotos direto ao Windows Live Spaces
- verificar o status de segurança de seu PC com Windows Live OneCare instalado.

As fotos do post japonês também mostram:
- Windows Live Messenger personalizado com logotipos empresarias e sem propaganda
- Windows Live Mail para o Windows Vista
- Outlook Connector para Hotmail
- Windows Live Photo Gallery beta e sua função de "photo stitch"

Get Your Webmail in Your Outlook

Do you want to use Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007 to check your Windows Live Mail (formerly known as Hotmail)? You used to be able to configure HTTP through Outlook, but then need a paid subscription to do so. However, with the new Microsoft Office Outlook Connector Beta, you can now download, read, and compose Windows Live Mail emails for free.

If you do not have a paid subscription, the Outlook Connector Beta enables you to use your Live accounts within Outlook to read and send your Office Live Mail/Windows Live Hotmail e-mail messages, manage your Live Mail contacts, use advanced options for blocking junk email messages, and manage multiple email accounts in one place.

With a paid subscription, the Outlook Connector Beta also enables the ability to manage, share, and synchronize your Windows Live Calendar in Outlook and access your Tasks and Notes. The beta is available for download here.

Hotmail gets a new look and name: Windows Live Hotmail

Microsoft has decided to take the plunge with one of its most popular brands and give it a new name and look. We all know hotmail as Microsoft's Web-based email service. Well, they've officially changed the name to "Windows Live Hotmail". Microsoft is specifically talking about the following features:

Reading Pane
Ability to Drag and Drop objects
Better Performance
Integration with other Live services (including instant messenger)

With more then 280 million active hotmail accounts worldwide this new version is bound to make an impact on your emailing services.
Microsoft will also have new software called Outlook Connector which will allow users to access their Live Hotmail accounts in Microsoft's desktop e-mail product.
