Part of my job is listening to you guys and covering what you think is important.  What types of videos do you like to see?  What types of topics do you find interesting?  I would love this thread to be about you guys and what you want.  What type of microsoft technology do you find interesting?  What type of non-microsoft technology do you find interesting?  What about gaming topics?  Do you like feel good, human interest topics?  Please, let the suggestions poor in.  Get specific too, if you know a guy or gal that has such and such and you think it would make for a cool story...by all means pass it on. Well, I've always been interested in stories about robotics and how they are advancing and what they will mean in the future.

I know this is too late to do a story on, but last week, Wired's "NextFest" took place in New York. It's a convention, where new advances in technology is shown (including robots, etc). Maybe next year, 10 could attend:

On the news a few weeks ago, there was a story about a man named Jesse Sullivan, who has two prostetic arms, which are wired to his brain. It's very cool stuff:

BTW, I really liked the Ben Thompson story (the dude that had the microchip (RFID) implanted in his own hand) that you guys shared back in April.

I'm also interested in stories about android/robots and I think you might like this one:

Researchers unveil emotive, interactive robot: "Quasi"

Also, it might kind of cool to see a show about face-scanning (or other "scanning" subjects):

As for Microsoft products, more Zune would be cool.

I really liked the "F.E.A.R. Extraction Point" video and the whole idea of playing the game (in the dark), until you die. That was cool. I'd like to see one on "Gears of War", "The Darkness" or some other upcoming shooter/action game.

This is a great alternative to the forums, Tina, thanks.  I've posted a few suggestions there that simply vanished moments later. Sad

* I love your environmental segments, so I'll keep my eyes peeled for anything that might make an interesting topic for 10.  NJ PIRG at Rutgers Camden, New Jersey, is currently doing a great deal of work to cut greenhouse gas emissions for the "Campus Climate Challenge."  If there is ever going to be prompt results to stop global warming, it's the Universities that will lead the way. Check it out.

* I've always been interested in commercial agriculture technology on farms.  I see all the enormous tractors and irrigation technology driving by farm fields and horse stables frequently in New Jersey and wonder how it’s managed and where it comes from.  Perhaps you could do a segment on a farm or ranch?  It's a great excuse to see you wear a cowgirl hat again. Wink

* Games...games...and more games.  This was always your true calling.  You'll always be a gaming goddess to me and I wouldn't have it any other way.  Your F.E.A.R. segment was brilliant, so we're all expecting to see you do more of those.  Please don't adhere to only Microsoft titles.  I know Microsoft is your employer, but try to keep on top of all gaming technology, like you did back on g4tv.com.  I've noticed you're frequently singing the 360's praises, and I find it a little annoying.  I like the 360 too, but I'm fan of all gaming disciplines, so I like to see all the console developers get there time in the spotlight.  First person shooters, platfrormers, and action adventure titles would make good games for you to demonstrate for us.  Again..."Timeshift" and "Bioshock" if you can get to them.  Thanks.

* Nintendo World!  Have you ever been there?  It's the Nintendo store at Rockefeller center in New York, New York.  I've been there once before and it's impressive, especially the history of Nintendo display on the second floor.  This seems like a segment you were destined to host.  You're a big Nintendo fan and Nintendo of America is just several blocks away from the Microsoft Campus in Redmond.  Why not give this a shot?  Besides, Laura is from New York, so you've already got connections.  I'd be happy to catch the train up and help out anyway I can.  Lunch or dinner is on me.

* I’d love to see more transportation technology like your 787 Dreamliner segment.  I know you’re not a flight enthusiast, so why not cover the trains, busses or boats?  There are new advancements in public transportation every year…even if it’s only new models.

* You’re obviously in the perfect place to cover new advances in PC technology, so I’ll avoid that recommendation.  I’d suggest letting Duncan or the others cover those things, even if it’s Vista or the intriguing new Zune.

* Major Nelson is always a great guest, so I’d love to see you and Laura testing him or demonstrating new games and Xbox Live updates from time to time.

I’d say that about covers it for now.  I’ll be sure to post any new suggestions here.  This is a great thread, Thanks for looking out for us and listening to our suggestions.  You’re the best, T-Dub.

Well, I know that Intel just came out with dual-core processors about a month ago.  And they just announced they are going to release four-core processors by the end of the year?  And there was a news story that they tested an 80-core processor that they think they can have on the market in a couple years?  What's going on with all that?  Is stuff really supposed to get a heck of a lost faster, really soon?

HeYo Tina !

Why dont you do a feature on Moore's law (look it up),

it is basicly the inevitable failing that all current technology will have one day, sounds grim but true.

Perhaps you could do a feature on experiments into Bio -circuits, something which may be the solution to the problems that Moore's law raises, it would be also be cool to see other possible solutions to this problem- the sooner this problem is tackled the better it will be for all of us.

Also what about a feature looking into the reasearch of new energy sources in the future, and how research into Dark Matter in switzerland ( the runway to stars) and elsewhere might  be very productive in attaing "clean energy"

Those are some good ideas, however they require good research to get off the ground , but they would be well worth it.

xx linkyshinks- come back Tina, the weather has improved in London (well, Global warming. )

It is basicly the inevetable failing that all current technology will have one day, sounds grim but true.

Perhaps you could incorperate a feature into possible anwsers to the problem- Bio- circuits,  although it would also be cool if you looked into other possible solutions to the problem.

Also perhaps a feature on new energy sources in the future- look into the research of Dark Matter/energy, i think there is a specific research facilitiy in La Serne in France - (HUGE)..

I think they require good research, but they would be more than worth it, as they raise issues that all our kind will face in the future. LS

You can come back to Blighty now Tina, the weathers good in london,  well , you see.. Global warming.  Bye- Linkyshinks X Smiley

Why do you call Moore's Law "the inevitable failing of all technology?"
Hi Tina,

I'd like to see an upclose look at the Xbox 360.  A while ago on a Web TV show someone pointed out the different drives the Xbox 360 had and how you could check which version you have.  It would be great if you could talk about why there are different drives and will there be different versions in the future. Also it would be interesting to hear more about the upcoming HD-DVD player, and what kind of TV would be best to really enjoy everything the Xbox 360 has to offer.

I would luv to see something like that, the whole show on the Xbox 360.  BTW this suggestion box is a great idea.  Oh maybe another show could be about XBox Live, how you get started, what you need at home, how you use and I'm not embarrased to admit this since I've never been on Xbox Live, a headset.  I did buy one, but I'm not ready to jump in yet, which is why I'm asking you to do a show on it, heh heh, not very clever huh?

I always love a good trip to NY.  Maybe next time.  Smiley

HeYo Tina!,

Could you please twist the arms of your seniors in order to to do a feature on the new Zelda TP, do anything you have to just dont brake their arms when your twisting them,.

There are are Hand On's happening right now in Redmond Washington DC at Nintendo's boffices- (English joke), so please forget about what you are doing, put all that to one side.. of your bosses desk!, and high tail it down to Redmond right now, i think your enthusiasm would be great for such a feature, but do leave the Red Dogg suit behind, please spare us that, it would also be extra cool if you could bring Laura along as well, but hey, that might be pushing it if their arms are lying on the floor!

Luv Linkyshinks XX:)
