Gears is hands down the 360 Game of the Year.

(Thanks in no small part to numerous delays of other candidate titles [Lost Planet, Crackdown, etc])

Don't get your hopes up for the PC version. "Gears" suffers from the exact same thing that Halo did/does: it's been fully designed for a console controlpad and thusly, the entire anatomy of the game has been reduced to a cheesy shooting gallery experience. The formula becomes VERY repetitive and tedious after the first scenario or so and the pacing leaves a lot to be desired of. I am floored by how gorgeous the visuals are (beyond some of the ugly models [the Lt., etc.]) but the B-movie story-delivery approach just leaves me with apathy for the world, story and characters.

I'm not trying to bash this product but I've grown tired of games dumbing themselves down to conform to inferior platforms. I honestly expected more from the legendary designer behind the Unreal Tournament franchise.

Bettcha enjoying this game right now!,-amazing game, still have to wait a little bit longer over here in the UK though, cannot wait to use that satalite weapon, that looks really cool, along with the whole game of course, December 4th here, the multiplayer looks great but i wonder if the multiplayer will match that of Resistance's 40 player city-scape battles, i guess it remains to be seen.:) LS

Well, because of a "shipping error" with a certain company, I was unable to pickup my collector's edition copy of GoW at a certain videogame store, yesterday...

Today, I finally got my hands on the game and I think this is truly a contender for GOTY. Probably, the best 360 game out there. I don't think I need to explain why =) Cliffy and Epic have created an awesome game and certainly, deserve a re-airing of this video.

Also, wouldn't that be cool if 10 had it's own XBL account/gamertag and the 10 team could play with the 10 viewers online? =)

I just don't care for Cliffy, never did when he used to pop into g4tv.com, and still don't.

Anyway, can't wait for the PC release. Once Vista is out, with DirectX10, yummie. I hope it's not all eye candy with a 6 hour completion time though. From what I've seen, it's nowhere near as innovative as Unreal was.

Wow, it's amazing, that no matter how much info and how many interviews Cliff does, I never get tired of hearing what he has to say or info about Gears of War. Cliff with Gears of War and Jade Raymond with Assassin's Creed. These are going to be the game creators that are taking us into the "true" next generation of gaming. That means going beyond making the game look absolutely beautiful but inventing and pushing the boundries of gameplay and I can't wait!
