Okay, I know you've seen it. Surveyors are those gentlemen who stand on the side of the road wearing those bright vests looking into some sort of camera lens on a tripod. Well, I'm intrigued by the technology and software that enables engineers and architects to actually build buildings based on that information. From GPS units to satellite communications to in-depth software; take a glimpse into their world.

Remember never touch your equiptment! At least the survey equiptment anyway.

Very interesting, thanks...
Nice camera work, T-Dub.  You look really cute with a hard hat on...almost as good as that cowgirl outfit a few years back.  Anyway, one of my closest friends and I took CAD and architectural drafting in high school and were really into surveying too.  He continued in the field and went on to college and now works as an assistant contractor.  I pursued advertising instead, but I still get a big kick out of this stuff.

Well, back to browsing all the E3 news swirling around the web.  I wasn't lucky enough to actually go this year.  *cries*  Guess I'll have to wait another year before I can actually meet you in person, my goddess.
That was interesting.

First of all, it would've been kind of funny if the Friday the 13th music was playing, when he showed the axe.

Second, good to know the kind of equipment the surveyers are using these days.

And third, it was really cool to see AutoCad. I've heard of it, but have never really seen the software, before.

Have a kick-ass time at E3.

Looking forward to the Microsoft conference...Halo 3 =)
That was funny. Big Smile

Interesting segment. Thanks Tina.
I'm pretty sure they got that music from a porn.
Oddly enough, I think doing this is a major on my campus and everyday I see people doing this all the freaking time. I've always wonderred what they're doing..

Thanks, Tina!

Thanks for doing this segment, It takes alot of work to go from existing landscape to a fully operational complex, whether it is commercial or public. Working as an Architect, I've done my share of holding elevation rods and setting up tri-pods in the desert. Now things are going toward GPS surveying and files are so easy to transfer via e-mail. Do a show about the EMP, Frank Gerhy's building. The building's concept is about the movement of sound. its cool.
just this morning one of these guys was literally in the middle of the street surrounded by soft orange traffic cones... Although I knew he was surveying I thought to myself... "what the heck is he looking at?" Thank you for answering my question. Scary, this has happened 3 times on your show already... your starting to scare me, and entertain me at the same time. SO seriously stop.... but no, don't.
Are they surveying at redmond campus to build the PRT - http://gettherefast.org/. You girls have deep contacts. Wink Can you confirm? Probably you can do a cool video on PRT.
