The “Quick Add” feature in Windows Live Hotmail is an innovative way to quickly and easily add extra information to an email message including restaurants, business listings, photos, and videos. After choosing one of the available options, you can access a search box in Hotmail’s sidebar to find the information you need – like the name and phone number of a restaurant you’re mentioning in your email message, for example. An “insert” button beneath the listing in the sidebar lets you paste the info directly into your message.
Now Hotmail’s “Quick Add” feature has been upgraded to include more options courtesy of the new Bing search engine. In addition to restaurants, business listings, photos, and videos, you can now also search for maps as well as movie listings and times. And all the Quick Add options have been updated to work with the new Bing API.
This is a really handy feature for Hotmail users and something entirely unique to the service. To check it out for yourself, go to mail.live.com.
