What is Microsoft Media Room?

When we spoke to Robbie Bach at CES he referred to a piece of Microsoft technology called Microsoft Media Room as a key component of the "connected entertainment" experience.

I didn't know a lot about Media Room so we met with Peter Barrett, CTO of the MSTV group (and fellow Aussie), at CES 2008 for a hands on introduction to Microsoft Media Room; What is it, how does it work and how can we all get our hands on it?

That's an interesting question - I'll ping the media room guys and see if we can get some more info.

Hopefully there will be some sort of announcement that clarifies if there will be a "connected experience" between Media Center and MediaRoom.  At the moment, they seem to have no relationship other than TV.  And thats a cause of concern..I'm hesitant to buy Media Extenders if those devices won't extend MediaRoom as well.  Maybe someone has some info?
