Remember when DJ's just played music? Well those days are in the past now. At CES this year I was awestruck by the performance I saw at the Pioneer booth. "DJ Roonie G" took control of the Pioneer DVJ 1000, the worlds first DVD turntables, and mixed music CD's with movies- both professional and home made. He created a visual and musical masterpiece where all traditional lines became blurred. You have to watch this piece...and demand all your favorite DJ's do the same. Clubbing has never been so cool.

Amazing, I'd like to see some of these Pioneer equip'd DJs record & sell their creations online.

That's neat as hell. I'd like to see that guy put in a Bruce Lee film and just keep repeating Bruce owning a guy in the face. Yeeup, that's how I roll.
http://www.myspace.com/flexmix is another DJ/VJ group that does a similar performance.  Really cool stuff.
I was playing with these 3-4 years ago in the UK, so they are not new.
Looks like a re launch to me. they are very cool though but only good for large mainstream clubs where the dvd's can be purchased of all the latest music. Not realy any good for the more underground clubs. Very good for VDJ's to create their own video for clubs and raves and use these along side the Dj's
If you get a chance check out a DJ Shadow show he's doing stuff like this as well. Not sure if he's quite implemented the DVJ but his visuals are insane and like his last dvd it's in sync and on time.
