I went to the DV Expo this past year and got to play with all 4 manufactures cameras (sony wasn't listed here) and Canon is by far suprior. If you can get over the price tag and the size it had byfar the best image. Next in line for me was the panasonic. The P2 technlogy is sweet and ahead of its time.

That was an excellent NAB report, Laura. Damn, those HD cameras look awesome. I might wait for the prices to go down, though =)

BTW, what happened to that video with Tina interviewing the filmmaker about the DVX 100?

I got to use a Panasonic DVX 100 camera at The Art Institute of Seattle and it certainly kicks major ass.

Oh, and uh, anything happen in Vegas you can talk about?

Ha! Remember the story about the guy with the RFID chip in his hand? Well, I forwarded that all the way up my command chain to a super-boss who's overseeing a test of RFID technology here. I finally got some elevator time with the guy to see if he liked the clip.

He said that he thought it was interesting and funny and sent it out to his whole team, but "Those first few minutes, with those ditzy hosts babbling away, those were pretty painful. I was kind of upset with you for wasting my time, until they quit talking." Ha!

So no HD coming anytime soon, but higher quality downloads are certainly possible... if you have the bandwidth to download them.

Anyone interested in that? I think TinaIsHot's motivation is fairly obvious, but I'm hoping there are other reasons as well...

Ah, you've found a hole in our little censorship code... I'll fix that, and remove the word p o r n too, this is what happens when I just borrow a bad-word list from someone else instead of writing my own (less fun this way too)

No! Seriously, now that I have everybody's attention...
I'm glad to see the availability and price of HD video cameras continue to drop. However, I just don't think its a worthwhile investment yet. I think I'll give it a few more years when the market has matured and HD and Blue-ray are the standard. I should probably look into purchasing a new digital camera though.

I Love the way the segment ended with Laura's rump...hehe.
