Exactally my question. I need a device like this that supports cableCARDS. Or are there any MCE tuners that support it without needing to spend $1200 plus on some brand name media server system?

I did not know that a 360 MCE would down convert. Do the new d-link/hp extenders down convert too?

How are you synchronizing or importing from your digital camera --> to any PC --> to the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946676/en-us

Also, have you noticed that WebGuide lacks a slideshow function in the Photos area? It seems like one of the few things it is missing to tell the truth. Any ideas how to work around that?

The app is actually just in the browser on the phone!, I have the browser set to full screen, I'm using WM5 :) - I simply browse to my webguide URL after installing webguide on the MCE pc and it just works :)

Simple is cool but cool is never simple :)

How did you hook up your cable box to the system did you hook it up to the hdhome run or the 4 tuners in HTPC Im a little confused on this
Also you probally dont get premium channels correct dont you need a cable card system for this also could you let me in on the tuners you have in your HTPC also what would be the easiest way to swith back to the premium in looking to record the premium

Great work on your home entertainment network, Steve! I too am running Windows Vista Ultimate along with Windows Home Server and 360 at home and share your passion. I'm in the process of needing to upgrade my storage and was wondering who the manufacturer is and model of case you're using for storage. I've currently got about 2TB of storage, but I've run out of room for hard drives in my server. Rather than upgrade to larger drives, I'd rather just add new ones on and your storage rack looks like a perfect option.

You can get pretty much all of it right now.

Windows Home Server and Windows Vista MCE (Ultimate or Home Premium) are available now.

WebGuide (the mobile bit) is available for free download now, linked above in Brian's post.

The HDHomeRun's used for the HD streaming are available now, they are linked in a reply above.

The phone caller ID software is also available now, and linked in Brian's post.

Any 360 can be used as an extender for vista and with the Xbox 360 Arcade pack, you can get one now for around $280.

any chance you might release that divx stage6 application? it seems to satisify a need thats missing from media center very well. would love to get my hands on it.

i have a setup very similar to yours (except i have only one box which is server hardware with vista ultimate installed as the os) and only 2 extenders. but to anybody else considering the hdhomerun its a fantastic product... mine has been perfect.

HDHomeRun by SiliconDust is the HDTuner I'm using(http://www.silicondust.com/). It took me about an hour or so to setup initially (however doing it again would be easy and not take anywhere near as long). However since setting it up i've never touched it, i've never lost signal once on it, it's never had a single issue. The box is tiny also. The pictures on the site make it look a lot bigger than it is.

Now if only we could get a CableCard system as easily huh :)

True to an extent your right, However all of this functionality has been around in some way and another both on and off windows for a long time. The Slingbox is a great device and I tried one myself, however its additional hardware and I already had my MCE system setup.

But the real key point is this. All of this is one integrated system, sure the mobile and web element are nice, the ability to use the dash on the 360's or the extender functionality is nice if I want to do that. The ability to do multiple tuner recording and playback is nice, or ever the backup facilities of Home Server making me feel secure knowing my MCE server is backed up automatically nightly.

But this is the bit for me which really made me stick with this solution (bear in mind, I've been with Media Center a long time now and have used many MCE machines from 2002 right up to Vista Ultimate including pretty much every itteration of extender along the way.

I tried many other solutions but the one thing which kept me here is the fact everything is integrated. I have one look and feel across the board, no matter if i'm remote, web based, local in my kitchen, frontroom or bedroom. My phone calls come in, they are integrated and look slick.
I show my photos and listen to my music (and even stream it from my zune) and it feels like one flowing experience. I want to monitor the sports results and I have an insanely content rich sports interactive dashboard. I can order movies on demand, watch from my own collection and even burn a backup right from the same familiar interface.

I also have the sense of security knowing my recordings are centrally located with folder level duplication so my kids videos are always safe.

Another feature I didn't mention which I love is the Internet TV functionality, now in addition to the other integrated media experiences I can access many sources of Internet video via Internet TV. Be it watching a new concert or the lastest funny clip on MSN Video, it's right in front of me in the same way everything else is.

In the coming months I'll show you some of the magic which Media Center can really do, We're at channel 10 here. expect us to go a little crazy ;)

Loved the show, but I have two major questions that have alread been asked but want to ask them again so they will be noticed:

1) What was the name (brand/model) of the high def tuner that hooked directly to your switch

2) What is the windows mobile app that you are using that allows you access to your media center? Orb?

Great show - but this is Windows playing catch up. I've been doing most (if not all) of the above for six months now using a Slingbox Pro (I love the Slingbox Mobile feature on my Verizon EVDO Treo 700W).

Having said that - I'm looking forward to trying all of this out at some point.

It's part of WebGuide. You just add /mobile to the end of your Media Center name and you get the mobile version. So if your server is myserver.com:50113/ just use myserver.com:50113/mobile and you'll get the mobile version. It's great.

How do you get that application on your phone, what is it called?? I looked everywhere to get it, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Does it run on windows mobile 5 or 6 or both? because I have WM6. What desktop applicatiokn does it require? Links please.
